WBJEE or West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a state-level exam conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) for admission to various undergraduate courses such as engineering, pharmacy, and architecture in the state of West Bengal. Physics: The Physics section of the WBJEE exam covers topics from both Class 11th and 12th. Some of the important topics include units and measurements, laws of motion, rotational motion, gravitation, thermodynamics, oscillations and waves, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetic effects of current and magnetism, electromagnetic induction and alternating current, optics, dual nature of matter and radiation, and atoms and nuclei.
Chemistry: The Chemistry section of the WBJEE exam also covers topics from both Class 11th and 12th. Some of the important topics include atomic structure, chemical bonding and molecular structure, states of matter, thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, redox reactions, hydrogen, s-block elements, p-block elements, d and f-block elements, coordination compounds, environmental chemistry, solid-state, solutions, electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, surface chemistry, and biomolecules.
Mathematics: The Mathematics section of the WBJEE exam covers topics from Class 11th and 12th. Some of the important topics include algebra, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, calculus, probability, vectors, and statistics.
Biology: The Biology section of the WBJEE exam is only applicable to those who are aspiring to take admission in the pharmacy and architecture courses. The syllabus for biology includes topics from both Class 11th and 12th. Some of the important topics include diversity in living organisms, cell structure and function, human physiology, reproduction in organisms, genetics and evolution, biology and human welfare, biotechnology and its applications, ecology, and the environment.
In addition to the above-mentioned subjects, the WBJEE exam also includes a section on General Awareness, which covers topics such as Indian Constitution, Indian Economy, Geography, History, Current Affairs, and Sports.
It is important for the candidates to have a clear understanding of the WBJEE syllabus and its weightage. The Physics and Mathematics sections carry a weightage of 100 marks each, while the Chemistry section carries a weightage of 50 marks.
